Holzmarkt 25
"An iconic hotspot of Berlin's nightlife, the 'Bar 25' was one of the most notorious in the German capital, from its opening in 2004 until its closure on September 14, 2010."
Today, the "Holzmarkt" aims to preserve its spirit by offering a bar, a café, an exhibition space, a rehearsal room, a concert hall, as well as natural spaces with wooden benches and amenities that invite you to spend time out of time. Families live there and even have a school on-site. As in a club, please respect the areas where photography is prohibited. This place is dedicated to culture.
Holzmarkt25 is a haven of peace and an urban paradise, built on the ruins of Bar25, opposite the former Katerholzig. The guarded entrance gate of Bar25 remains on the side of the access path.
Colorful buildings line the road leading to Holzmarkt. Public transportation access is by bus, S-Bahn, or subway, followed by a short walk.
By passing through the central entrance under the Holzmarkt sign, you discover small exhibition rooms on either side. A totem of directional signs welcomes you next. Just behind it, an outdoor bar and various wooden tables and benches await you. The building on the left houses a tea room and a bar, with music studios and apartments upstairs.
On sunny days, grab a drink at the outdoor bar and stroll along the banks of the Spree. Settle on one of the benches among the natural spaces, where you will also find a kiosk and an old small boat. On the other side, a bakery produces bread on-site, just behind the bar.
If you prefer another location, head left, pass the children's play area, and discover the Télédisko, the world's smallest nightclub, located in a phone booth. Several of these booths exist in Berlin. Continue to the former site of the Pampa, follow the Spree, and settle on the wooden quays, offering a view of the former Katerholzig, Kiki Blofeld, and the Ice Factory. Enjoy the sun and tranquility while sipping your drink.
Holzmarkt25 regularly hosts events such as concerts, mixes, and markets. A concert hall is also located in the structure to the right of the bar. For a few years now, bars and outdoor dining spaces have been set up along the Katerblau, at the back of Holzmarkt25.
